Job Description

Smartkarma is looking for an experienced and motivated Senior Analyst – ASEAN Private Markets to build ongoing research coverage across important venture capital‑and private equity‑backed businesses and industries in ASEAN.

Key Responsibilities

• Own overall responsibility for publishing high‑impact research on venture capital‑and private equity‑backed businesses and industries in ASEAN for institutional investors.
• Develop and implement research frameworks to provide independent commentary on ASEAN business and industry trends and opportunities.
• Oversee research pipelines, including management of networks of analysts and vendors.
• Build and maintain relationships with industry professionals, clients, and media to support primary research and thought leadership.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in equity research, private equity and/or venture capital markets.
• Deep understanding of ASEAN private markets, key businesses and industries, including bridging the gap between private companies and public‑market investors.
• Demonstrated ability to produce high‑quality research and investment insights.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience communicating with senior stakeholders and clients.
