Job summary

A financial services firm in Singapore is looking for an experienced accountant to support daily accounting operations. The role includes managing accounts payable and receivable, preparing monthly reports, and ensuring compliance with statutory tax filings. Candidates should have a Diploma or Degree in Accounting/Finance with at least 3 years of relevant experience, preferably in manufacturing. This position offers a dynamic environment to engage with financial matters and collaborate with external auditors.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Manager in carrying out day-to-day accounting operations.
  • Manage petty cash transactions and reconcile cash balances.
  • Prepare monthly AR and AP reports, ensuring accuracy.
  • Perform month-end closing activities and prepare financial statements.
  • Liaise with banks and auditors for compliance matters.

Responsibilities
  • Support the Manager in carrying out day-to-day accounting operations.
  • Manage petty cash transactions and ensure physical cash balances reconcile with accounting records.
  • Maintain accurate accounts receivable records and prepare monthly AR reports.
  • Process accounts payable activities, including payment preparation, and generate monthly AP and creditor reports.
  • Keep detailed and continuous inventory records, producing regular inventory reports.
  • Update job-related billings and costs, and prepare job progress and status reports.
  • Perform month-end closing activities and prepare monthly financial statements.
  • Handle year-end closing and coordinate audit schedules to ensure smooth audit completion.
  • Manage ad-hoc accounting matters such as payment follow-ups, expense verification, and coordination with external auditors on tax-related issues.
  • Maintain complete and accurate sets of accounts for the company.
  • Ensure timely submission of GST returns and other statutory tax filings.
  • Liaise with banks, external auditors, and tax agents on financial and compliance matters.
  • Oversee and maintain accounting records for subsidiaries.
  • Ensure adherence to established accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
