Overview

Job Title: Senior Accounts Executive

Department: Finance / Accounting
Location: Singapore
Reporting To: Finance Manager / Head of Department

Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent

Job Purpose

To oversee financial operations by reviewing accounts, ensuring compliance, and preparing accurate reports for management. The role provides leadership to the accounts team, supports audits and budgeting, and offers insights to guide business decisions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and review the work of junior accounts staff (AP/AR/reconciliations). Ensure accuracy and provide guidance by working alongside the team.
  • Lead month-end and year-end closing, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
  • Prepare and review financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow)
  • Oversee tax compliance (GST, corporate tax) and liaise with external tax agents
  • Manage budgeting and forecasting processes; monitor variances and provide analysis to management
  • Maintain and strengthen internal controls and accounting policies.
  • Liaise with external auditors, banks, and government agencies
  • Review and approve payroll, staff claims, and vendor payments
  • Train, mentor, and develop junior accounting staff
  • Act as point of contact for accounting issues and system improvements (e.g., SAP enhancements)
  • Provide management with financial insights to support decision-making
  • Assist Finance Manager in strategic planning and process improvement
Qualifications & Skills
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, including supervisory or senior-level responsibilities
  • Strong knowledge of accounting standards, financial reporting, and statutory compliance (e.g., GST, corporate tax in Singapore)
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, ERP based or similar)
  • Strong leadership and people management abilities, with experience in guiding junior team members
  • High level of integrity, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines
  • Effective communication skills to liaise with auditors, tax agents, banks, and senior management
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills
