Job summary

A local education services firm is seeking a full-time Science Teacher Assistant for an MOE Primary School in Singapore. Responsibilities include maintaining science laboratories, preparing teaching resources, and managing inventory. Job description

Role:

This is a full-time, onsite, Science Teacher Assistant role in MOE Primary School. If you are selected, you will work closely with HOD/LH-Science and/or Admin Manager in an MOE Primary School (nearest MRT — Punggol) in the day-to-day activities.

Responsibilities:
  • Maintain general cleanliness and upkeep of the science laboratories.
  • Prepare teaching resources (including tools/equipment/materials/apparatus and any learning or training kits) in collaboration with teachers.
  • Manage inventory to maintain sufficient stock and procure new equipment/materials/components when necessary while tracking the budget and resources utilisation in the Science Laboratories.
  • Demonstrate competence in use of equipment/machines as well as simple troubleshooting.
  • Conduct specific experiments as per HOD’s instructions.
  • Conduct termly store stock take for scientific equipment/material/apparatus.
  • Track faulty equipment/materials that need to be replaced.
  • Maintain a record of the loaning out of equipment/materials/apparatus to teachers.
  • Update database of science resources which include diagrams and pictures.
  • Any other duties assigned by HOD and school leaders.
Job Requirements:

The candidate shall minimally have the following qualifications, skills and experience (relevant supporting documents / write‑up must be submitted):

Work Experience

Must have at least 2 years of working experience as a Science Laboratory Technician in a primary school setting.

Qualification

Minimum GCE “O” levels or equivalent.

Skills
  • Bilingual (proficient in speaking English and mother tongue).
  • Able to make use of applications such as Microsoft Office, Google Sheets, etc.
