Position Summary

The successful candidate will utilize consultative selling techniques to uncover customer pain points and utilize steam expertise to align solutions.
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Sales Engineer to join our team. He/She must achieve orders, sales targets and other objectives by specifying, offering and obtaining orders for Spirax Sarco products to customers in Pharmaceutical Industry sectors, sales channels and product focus as determined by the General Manager.
Basic Duty & Responsibilities
In performing the duties as a Spirax Sarco Sales Engineer, it will be essential to:
Opportunity and Customer Development
- Responsible for Pharmaceutical Industry sales and business growth.
- Actively pursue new clients
- Promote Spirax Sarco’s product range to an existing cliental base.
- Maintain customer records with database through CRM.
- Recommend and propose steam system services, improvements, upgrades to end-users, EPCs and contractors.
- Negotiation, closing of sale and to conduct product presentations.
- Preparation of tender bids for project quotes with technical and commercial negotiations.
- System commissioning with Service team, if required.
- Generate reports to customers and immediate supervisor.
- Operate as a team player towards a common team goal.
- Optimize penetration in key customers.
- Evaluate customer requirements to map out solutions and recommend and propose steam system services, improvements, and upgrades.
- Develop technical and application knowledge for field applications and on-site implementations.
- Negotiation, closing of sales and conducting sales presentations.
- Preparation of tender bids for project quotes with technical and commercial negotiations.
- System commissioning with Service team, if required.
Sales and Profit Growth
- Achieve orders, sales and profit targets set by the General Manager.
- Undertake a business plan for the assigned industrial sector in accordance with set and agreed KPIs and Company standards.
- Complete and submit reports on sales calls, quote volume and values through CRM.
- KPIs at weekly and monthly intervals or as directed by the General Manager.
Strategic Alignment
- Be familiar with the company’s strategic objectives.
- Ensure all activities are in line with the company’s overall strategy and objectives.
Business Information and Planning
- Maintain customer records with databases and proactively plan customer account activities and objectives through CRM.
- Recognize and convey potential areas of opportunity to the marketing and business development teams.
- Generate reports for both customers and immediate supervisor.
- Operate as a team player toward a common team goal.
- Work closely with all supporting departments within Spirax Sarco Pte Ltd to achieve the company’s objectives. This includes Sales & Service Support, Warehouse & Distribution and Finance departments.
- Strictly comply with the Spirax Sarco’s code of conduct, Workplace Safety, Environmental, Legal, Anti-Bribery and Corruption policies & standards.
Qualifications
- Degree in Engineering or Diploma with relevant experience in Pharmaceutical or Mechanical Engineering background would be an advantage.
- A professional background with 3 to 5 years of experience in steam or relevant industry.
- Proficient computer skills (i.e. Microsoft Office and Dynamics CRM).
- Proven genuine desire to sell and ability to work towards targets and deadlines.
- Knowledge of Digital connected services and/or sustainability is desirable.
- Maintain a current driver’s license and possess own vehicle.
- Willing to travel for business trips (if needed)
