Job summary

An international trading firm in Singapore is seeking an experienced leader for Business Leadership & Strategy. The successful candidate will develop business strategies, manage P&L performance, and drive key customer relationships. Candidates should have 5–8 years’ experience in technical sales or business management and familiarity with precision engineering industries. Job description
Business Leadership & Strategy
  • Develop and execute business strategies in alignment with company goals.
  • Manage P&L performance, revenue targets, forecasting, and profitability.
  • Monitor market trends and identify new growth or product opportunities.
  • Conduct regular business reviews and report performance to management.
Sales & Customer Management
  • Drive development of key customer accounts and business opportunities.
  • Support sales teams on solution proposals, pre‑sales engagements, and negotiations.
  • Build sustain long‑term customer relationships.
  • Address critical commercial or delivery issues to ensure customer satisfaction.
Product / Solution Portfolio Management
  • Oversee full product lifecycle from introduction to phase‑out.
  • Collaborate with suppliers, principals, and internal technical teams to ensure product relevance.
  • Evaluate cost structures, pricing strategies, and margin performance.
  • Support product training for internal teams and customers where required.
Cross‑Site Operational Coordination
  • Work closely with Operations, Engineering, QA, and Procurement teams across regional sites.
  • Support planning for assembly operations, technical builds, and supplier localization.
  • Ensure processes are aligned with company policies and quality standards.
People Leadership
  • Lead and develop a cross‑functional team (Sales, Applications, Product roles).
  • Set clear performance objectives aligned with BU goals.
  • Foster a collaborative, growth‑focused team culture.
  • Support talent development and succession planning.
Requirements
  • 5–8 years’ experience in technical sales, business management, applications, or product management.
  • Experience in optical, mechanical, photonics, instrumentation, or precision engineering industries is preferred.
  • Proven experience leading teams and managing key customer or supplier accounts.
  • Familiarity with regional supplier/principal management.
  • Experience with assembly/production operations is an added advantage.
