Job summary

A leading safety consultancy firm in Singapore is looking for a Workplace Safety and Health Officer. In this role, you will be responsible for integrating safety policies into business operations and ensuring compliance with the Workplace Safety and Health Act. The ideal candidate will have at least three years of WSHO experience, excellent leadership skills, and a strong knowledge of safety management systems. This position requires field inspections and effective communication with stakeholders, making a positive impact on the company's safety culture.

Job Description

The Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) Officer is responsible for ensuring that the Company's WSH policies and practices are effectively integrated into business operations. The role involves the development, implementation, and enforcement of WSH management systems, fostering a strong safety culture, and ensuring full compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements across project sites.

Key responsibilities include risk management, conducting internal and external audits, site inspections, incident investigation, coordination of safety training programmes, and the management of safety reporting and communications.

Job Requirements
  • Registered and licensed Workplace Safety and Health Officer (WSHO) with the Ministry of Manpower (MOM), with a valid practising certificate.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of relevant working experience performing WSHO duties, including experience in Land Transport Authority (LTA) and SP Group–related projects.
  • Demonstrated competency in the implementation, maintenance, and continual improvement of Workplace Safety and Health Management Systems in accordance with applicable legislation and recognised standards.
  • Strong working knowledge of the Workplace Safety and Health Act, subsidiary legislation, and relevant Codes of Practice and Singapore Standards.
  • Proven experience in conducting workplace risk assessments, safety inspections, internal and external audits, and incident investigations.
  • Ability to plan, coordinate, and deliver WSH training and safety promotion programmes to foster a positive safety culture.
  • Good leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills to effectively influence management, supervisors, and workers on WSH matters.
  • Competent in safety reporting, data analysis, and the preparation of statutory reports, with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Willingness to travel to project sites, including working during non-standard hours (e.g. night inspections between 12:00 a.m. and 5:00 a.m.), as required by operational needs.
