Job summary

A subsidiary engineering firm is seeking an experienced Safety Coordinator in Singapore. Responsibilities include implementing workplace safety and health (WSH) programs, conducting site inspections, and managing incidents. Ideal candidates will hold relevant safety certifications, have experience in regulated environments, and possess strong communication skills. This position requires a proactive individual capable of working independently and effectively in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

  • Must hold a WSQ Advanced Certificate in Workplace Safety & Health and valid WSH Coordinator Refresher Training.
  • Holds Building Construction Safety Supervisor (BCSS) certification.
  • Experience in regulated environments like pharmaceutical or industrial sites is advantageous.

CF Global Technologies PteLtd is a subsidiary of Chong Fong Engineering with footprints in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and China. We are providing engineering services in terms of after sales support for the equipment installed at our customer facilities.

We are currently seeking an experienced Safety Coordinator (WSH Coordinator) to support our Service Division operations.

Key Responsibilities
WSH Programme Support & Compliance
  • Support the implementation of WSH programmes and initiatives.
  • Explain WSH compliance requirements and proper work practices relevant to employees.
  • Address and provide guidance on instances of WSH non-compliance and unsafe work practices.
  • Report WSH non-compliance, unsafe work conditions, and unsafe practices.
Site Inspections & Monitoring
  • Conduct site WSH compliance inspections and routine checks.
  • Monitor work practices and site activities.
  • Collect and maintain WSH performance and site safety data.
  • Support the implementation of actions to improve WSH performance and control risks.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of implemented corrective and preventive actions.
Incident & Emergency Management
  • Manage and respond promptly to incidents and accidents.
  • Follow site Emergency Preparedness and Response Plans (EPRPs) during emergency situations.
  • Alert team members of emergency situations and potential escalation of incidents or accidents.
  • Support WSH incident and accident investigations.
  • Follow investigation protocols to collect data and report findings.
  • Contribute recommendations to prevent recurrence of incidents and accidents.
  • Support the implementation of immediate, corrective, and preventive actions.
Risk Management & IMS Support
  • Assess work processes to identify and establish the scope of WSH risks.
  • Execute Risk Management (RM) plans and conduct Risk Assessments (RA).
  • Support and implement action plans to improve the Integrated Management System (IMS).
  • Ensure RM and RA documentation is properly executed and maintained.
Other
  • May be required to stay beyond normal working hours on rare occasions to support site operations or emergency situations.
Candidate Requirements
  • Holds WSQ Advanced Certificate in Workplace Safety & Health (Level B) and valid WSH Coordinator Refresher Training.
  • Holds Building Construction Safety Supervisor (BCSS) certification.
  • Exposure to regulated environments such as pharmaceutical, manufacturing, cleanroom, laboratory, or industrial sites; pharmaceutical experience is an advantage.
  • Experience reviewing and assessing Permit-to-Work (PTW) documentation and advising on hazard identification.
  • Knowledge of GMP and GDP requirements and experience in conducting safety audits are advantageous.
  • Able to communicate clearly and effectively with workers, supervisors, and contractors.
  • Safety-driven, proactive, and able to work independently in a fast-paced, regulated environment.
  • Intermediate computer literacy; experience with digital safety and incident reporting systems is an advantage.
  • Additional WSQ certifications (e.g. Process Plant Safety, Risk Management, Confined Space, Work-at-Height) are advantageous.
