Job summary

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a Refinery and Petrochemical process technical environment, focused on Rotating Equipment.
  • Essential prior experience in Turnarounds (TAs) and maintenance execution.
  • Basic knowledge of Rotating Equipment petrochemical standards, including ASME and API.

As a Rotating Equipment Specialist, you will be responsible for providing technical support related to rotating equipment and systems to ensure safe, efficient & reliable operations. Your primary goal will be to achieve high reliability and availability while maintaining cost-effectiveness.

This role necessitates close collaboration with various departments. You will work with the Operations department to monitor equipment defects and plan accordingly, and with the Maintenance department on tasks related to equipment maintenance and preventive maintenance, ensuring quality assurance and controls are met. Furthermore, you will engage with the Safety department to guarantee compliance with all safety regulations pertinent to rotating equipment. Your expertise will be instrumental in enabling us to deliver on our promise to create a healthier planet for our children.

Your role in our team / in creating a sustainable future
  • Ensure that all rotating equipment and systems (e.g., pumps, compressors, agitators, fans) are installed and maintained in accordance with recognized and generally accepted good engineering practices, guided by relevant established codes, standards, published technical reports, recommended practices, or similar documents
  • Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders (Operations/ Technical)across Singapore and other Neste sites, as well as external stakeholders including suppliers and experts, to ensure effective maintenance and reliability activities pertaining to rotating equipment and systems, thereby ensuring safe and reliable operations
  • Partner with the Rotating Engineer for the establishment and effective implementation of predictive and preventive maintenance programs and plans, utilizing effective tools, best practices, and procedures
  • Coordinate and participate in all refinery safety programs
  • Contribute to the improvement and implementation of the site Reliability Strategy, develop and execute Maintenance and Reliability work processes, and support the delivery of the site’s High Reliability culture
  • Initiate and raise Management of Change (MOC) for proposed equipment improvement
  • Work with the Maintenance team by providing 2nd line of troubleshooting for rotating equipment
  • Work with the Maintenance team to eliminate bad actors by recommending cost-effective repair, replacement, or re-engineering solutions. This primarily involves recognizing recurrent issues and understanding their root causes. Implement defect elimination strategies, whether for routine troubleshootingor as feedback to engineers or production.
  • Conduct and lead the Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for equipment failures
  • Development of Spare Parts Strategy with Rotating Equipment Engineer and Maintenance teams
  • Ensure the Data Management System is kept up to date,including service reports, vibrations trends & RCA reports
  • Ensure the implementation of predictive condition monitoring programs to track equipment health and facilitate data collection for integration into Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM) programs. Analyze all condition monitoring trends and reports (e.g., vibration monitoring, oil particle analysis) and recommend necessary remedial, preventive, or improvement actions
  • Optimize rotating equipment maintenance strategies based on the RCA outcome and performance trending
  • Work with Rotating Engineer to develop inspection, repair or overhaul scopes
  • Review performance measures and pertinent maintenance information within the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)/SAP for trending and frequency analysis, to identify issues related to equipment performance and breakdown analyses
  • As a Single Point of Authority (SPA) from Rotating team to provide technical review and recommendation for CAPEX project
