Job summary

A leading commodities trading company in Singapore is seeking a Middle Office professional. The role involves validating trades, understanding mark-to-market concepts, and monitoring trading risks. Candidates must have a diploma/degree in a relevant field and at least 3 years of experience in a commodities trading environment, preferably in oil products. Proficiency in English and Chinese is required.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in a commodities trading environment.
  • Professional risk qualification will be an added advantage.
  • Strong quantitative/mathematical background.

Responsibilities

  • Perform Middle Office functions such as trades and curve validation.
  • Understand mark-to-market on physical commodity and derivative products.
  • Monitor trading limits and market risk of trading portfolio.

Job description
Responsibilities
  • Able to perform Middle Office functions such as trades and curve validation
  • Understand the concept of mark-to-market (Mtm) on physical commodity and derivative products
  • Profit and loss (Pnl) substantiation for both paper and physical exposure
  • Generate portfolio risk exposure and Daily Mtm Pnl for both paper and physical portfolios
  • Calculate and analyse daily risk report valuations, including value at risk, stop loss, portfolio position and credit exposures and assess the validity of values given knowledge of portfolio and market change
  • Monitoring trading limits and market risk of trading portfolio and hedging strategies
  • Perform stress testing and scenario analysis
  • General ad hoc analysis and reporting
Requirements
  • Diploma/Degree in Statistics/Finance/Economics/Engineering with a strong quantitative/mathematical background;
  • Professional risk qualification will be an added advantage
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in a commodities trading environment (with a focus on oil products)
  • Perfect understanding of trading lifecycle front-to-end and physical/financial instruments (ie, Swap, future, option)
  • Analytical and meticulous
