Job summary

A leading engineering consultancy in Singapore is seeking a Mechanical/Electrical Engineer to supervise construction for building services. The role requires at least 6 years of experience in supervising related projects, solid knowledge of technical drawings, and the ability to manage site activities effectively. Candidates should be willing to work nights or weekends as necessary. This is a 1-year contract position with a competitive salary up to $7000 plus an annual bonus.

Roles & Responsibilities

Job Details

• Duration: 1 year contract (renew/convert)
• Project Type: Underground Piping
• Salary: Up to $7000 + Annual Bonus
• Location: Marina
• 5 to 6 days work week (44 hrs)

Job Scope

• Participate in reviewing detailed design drawings, method statements, material requisitions, etc.
• Supervise, manage delivery of materials, equipment.
• Verify the quantity and state of equipment based on bill of lading on site. Update delivery record.
• Co-ordination of services at site including entry locations, routing, etc.
• Supervise construction activities including daily checks on contractors, site investigations, site surveys, installation and inspection of work to ensure compliance with technical specifications and project schedule.
• Conduct line checks to ensure the systems are installed as per contract and shop drawings.
• Prepare report related to project work status, site issues, events, progress and recommendation for improvement.
• Maintain a record of progress noting special comments. Reports to supervisor on work anomalies or contractual deviations committed by the contractor and recommend corrective actions.
• Identify defects, prepare punch list and clear defects.
• Witness, provide comments/report and assist to carry out site acceptance tests, pre-commissioning and testing & commissioning of equipment/ systems according to contract / method statements.
• Participate in development of and checking the As-built drawings/O&M manual.
• Assist with handing over the systems to O&M team.

Requirements

• Diploma/ Degree in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering discipline
• Minimum 6 years of experience supervising mechanical, electrical, instrument and control system construction, testing and commissioning for building services systems, district cooling system, chilled water system and process plant.
• Good knowledge in reading and understanding technical drawings, including layout drawings, P&IDs, electrical single line diagram, control schematic drawings, etc.
• Willing to carry out night/ weekend works (few times per month) where needed.
