Job summary

A construction and engineering firm in Singapore is seeking a qualified mechanical engineer to supervise airport runway projects. You will oversee the installation processes and assure adherence to safety regulations and standards. Responsibilities include inspecting workmanship, preparing reports, and coordinating with stakeholders. Candidates must possess a degree in mechanical engineering, have a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, and be a registered technical officer. This role may require working night shifts and overtime.

Qualifications

  • Must have at least 5 years of experience as RTO on local projects.
  • Registered resident technical officer with IES/ACES.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect and monitor quality of workmanship of the works on site.
  • Daily site survey and monitor site activity.
  • Prepare weekly reports.

Skills

Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Experience in supervision of Changi Airport Runway Projects

Job description
Role Overview
  • Supervision and co‑coordination of excavation and trenching of the installation of fire hydrant chambers and pipes (both mechanical joint and push‑on joint methods) are done using approved earthquake resistance Kubota Pipes
  • Ensure that all installations are in accordance with the Kubota GENEX pipe installation methods, approved drawings, and applicable local Codes, Regulations and Standards
Role Responsibilities
  • Inspect and monitor quality of workmanship of the works on site
  • Check all drawings and contract specifications (including authority aubmission drawings and shop drawings) Job Requirements
  • Knowledge of Microsoft office words, excels and PowerPoints
  • Able to commit night shift & overtime
  • Review Method Statement & Risk Assessment Document & Inspection Test Plan procedure
  • Review the Quality Assurance (QA) & Quality Control (QC) Plan and Procedure Documents
  • Follow the approved engineering drawings /documents & carried out inspection.
  • Review & follow QP/PE Design approved documents
  • Read & follow project requirements
  • Daily site survey & monitor site activity
  • Review Site Construction Query (SCQ) & approval
  • Review project overall schedule on weekly basis on construction and inspection activities
  • Checking procurement report & closely follow up
  • Internal meeting with Eng., Team & contractor
  • Follow‑up & monitor daily project schedule
  • Carried out Inspection as per AFI
  • Attend FAT at vendor facility
  • Prepare weekly report
  • Checking daily & weekly report by contractor
  • Attend Meetings with Stake holders
  • Participate safety site walkdown
  • Review third party inspection FAT documents
  • Closely follow‑up with punch list & carried out inspection
  • Review Construction MOM & Monthly report
Job Requirements
  • Possess at least Degree in (Mechanical) Engineering
  • Must be experienced in supervision of Changi Airport Runway Projects
  • Minimum 5 Years of experience as RTO on local projects
  • Registered resident technical officer with IES/ACES
  • Ensure Airport Operational and Safety Requirements
  • Ensure all Regulations and Standards of the Runways, Taxi ways, Military Taxi way and Airport Emergency Service
