Using Artificial Intelligence to Examine Mediational Factors in STEM Makerspaces
The Natural Sciences and Science Education Department of NIE is hiring one Research Assistant (full‑time) to support a study that seeks to establish empirical knowledge about how changes in makerspace may catalyse, propagate, and/or hinder social interactions and interactions with artefacts. The long‑term aim of this work is to develop a framework focusing on mediational factors and learning outcomes in makerspace. This evidence‑based framework may then be used by makerspace owners and staff, such as teachers in charge of makerspace, to purposefully design meaningful and productive learning experiences for participants instead of allowing random events to unfold. The period of the contract will be 18 months, and the Research Assistant is expected to participate in all activities related to science education and research led by the Principal Investigator.
Applicants (external and internal) will apply via Workday. We regret that only shortlisted candidates will be notified.
