We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Junior Assistant Therapist to join our rehabilitation team. This is an entry-level position for individuals with a background in animal care or veterinary support who are keen to learn rehabilitation techniques.
You will assist physiotherapists, veterinarians, and senior therapists in delivering rehabilitation treatments to patients recovering from surgery, injury, or mobility challenges.
Therapy Assistance
Support senior therapists during hydrotherapy, therapeutic exercises, laser therapy, and mobility training.
Prepare therapy rooms and equipment before and after sessions.
Monitor patients during sessions and report observations to supervising staff.
Patient Handling & Care
Safely handle patients using low-stress and fear-free techniques.
Provide comfort and support to patients during therapy.
Records & Communication
Assist in documenting therapy sessions and progress updates.
Communicate with clients under supervision, including basic updates and guidance for at-home care.
Collaboration
Work closely with veterinarians, physiotherapists, nurses, and specialists to ensure seamless patient care.
Diploma in Veterinary Technology, Animal Science, or equivalent (preferred).
Prior animal handling or veterinary nursing experience an advantage but not required.
Strong teamwork and communication skills.
Enthusiasm for animal care and willingness to learn new techniques.
Flexibility to work some weekends and public holidays.
