To create and implement the overall regional vision, strategy and business plans, in-line with the Head Office functional strategy and policy, in order to optimise overall regional performance and achieve regional KPIs.
To provide strategic people leadership to ensure that regional businesspriorities are met, that regional risks are successfully managed, and that the region remains strongly interfaced with Head Office strategies and policy.
Strategy
- Partner with the Head Office based functions by giving relevant input to and evaluation of functional strategies for the region as well as setting regional KPIs and other measures
- Provide strategic leadership to the Regional Heads to evaluate, adapt and execute the agreed functional strategies for the respective functions in the region and ensure that they are clear on the direction
- Ensure that overall regional business plans and metrics are in place and maintain active oversight of cross-functional performance taking action where necessary to achieve targets
- Partner with the Head Office based functions to develop, implement and maintain an appropriate operating model in the region
- Maintain awareness of each function’s global strategy and any associated policy
Compliance
- Conduct all responsibilities relating to the role of Outport Compliance Officer as per the appointment letter
- Fully comply with and ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, including competition law, labour law, tax law and health and safety regulations across the region>
- Ensure compliance with all global polies including the Company’s Anti-bribery Policy and local Anti-bribery regulations, the Company’s Antitrust Policy and associated Guidelines; and take all measures to ensure subordinates’ compliance
Risk Management, Safety and Security
- Ensure early identification and assessment of potential major issues, in the area of safety and security, operational disruptions, industrial relations and legal compliance to minimise the risks of a potential negative impact on the airline
- Be aware of and understand the potential implications of business decisions that could impact employee relations and public relations and address these appropriately to minimise risks of poor industrial relations and corporate image
- Ensure that all operational, safety and security and Internal Audit findings are actioned timely
- Oversee regional satisfaction of Information Technology support, smooth Information Technology project rollout and effective use of Information Technology
Financial and Business Control
- Deliver business results within agreed costs, headcount and resource levels to improve and sustain productivity and meet commercial goals
- Actively manage overheads to budget and maintain oversight on marketing and route related costs, leveraging Airline Purchasing Department and seeking cost saving opportunities where possible
- Maintain a good understanding of the route costs components and data analytics to facilitate smart business decisions
- Robustly manage agent credit risk in accordance with the Credit Control Policy and Guidelines to minimise bad debt exposure
- Convert Cathay’s vision, values, strategies and policies into local terms to understanding and adoption
Stakeholder Management and Cathay Representation
- Represent the Airlines’ externally to enhance local business development and operations as well as building the Airlines’ image positively in the local community
- Represent the Airlines’ with key stakeholders and industry counterparts, embassies, government bodies, BAR, AOC, official trade bodies, Hong Kong associations to progress local business development and operations
- Engage actively in community, charitable, and media activities that generate a positive image for the Airlines’
People Leadership
- Set a clear direction, drive performance and build, engage and develop a high performing team
- Be a catalyst for change to ensure that Outport business and operational performance consistently improved through strong leadership of people

Academic Qualifications
- University degree holder in a relevant management or business discipline
Experience
- 12 years’ experience in the airline or related industry
- 10 years’ experience in a management role (Experience required for the role will be dependent on operational and organisational complexity within the region)

- Demonstrable experience in leading teams to success across multiple locations and/or in a matrix organisation
- Strong drive for excellence with proven success in delivering projects and leading positive
- Naturally strong business acumen coupled with analytical abilities and problem solving capabilities
