Job summary

A leading transport company in Singapore is seeking a Train Service Controller to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable train operations. The successful candidate will monitor and regulate train movements, respond promptly to incidents, and coordinate with maintenance staff. Applicants should have a Diploma in Engineering, the ability to work rotating shifts, and be proficient with computer-based control systems. This role requires strong decision-making skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.

Qualifications

  • Able to work rotating shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
  • Familiarity with an Operations Control Room environment is an advantage.
  • This is a non-executive position.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and control train operations to provide safe, reliable, and efficient services.
  • Regulate and track train movements in accordance with the train timetable.
  • Make logical decisions and adjust services to meet passenger needs.
  • Coordinate Operations and Maintenance staff to respond to faults safely.
  • Oversee daily station openings and ensure equipment is in working order.
  • Assist in disseminating information to passengers during rail incidents.
  • Notify maintenance staff of equipment faults for timely recovery actions.
  • Manage work possessions and track access according to established rules.
  • Facilitate authorized access for external personnel when needed.
