Our client is a local MNC manufacturing company that designs and produces high-quality components for the medical technology sector. The business supports global customers and operates multiple manufacturing sites across Asia, with a strong focus on engineering innovation and regulated manufacturing excellence.

About the Role

We are looking for a motivated R&D Engineer (Process Development) to support new product development and manufacturing process innovation in the medical device industry. This role focuses on developing, qualifying, and improving manufacturing processes with strong emphasis on manufacturability, automation, and quality, while partnering cross-functionally to ensure smooth technology transfer from R&D into production.

Responsibilities

• Develop, qualify, and optimize manufacturing processes and technologies in line with internal and external standards
• Support new product development activities from concept stage through production transfer
• Design and conduct experiments to establish robust, capable manufacturing processes
• Develop process specifications, qualification plans, and risk assessments
• Build technical expertise in medical tubing extrusion, film casting, and assembly processes
• Analyze process and experimental data using statistical tools and communicate findings clearly
• Collaborate with Operations, Quality, and Engineering teams on scale-up and continuous improvement initiatives
• Support supplier selection, qualification, and technical collaboration
• Train production personnel on new or improved processes
• Provide technical troubleshooting support and assist during audits when required

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Materials Science, or related disciplines
• Experience in R&D, process engineering, or manufacturing preferred.
• Experience with extrusion, film casting, or assembly processes is an advantage
• Candidates without experience but possess strong interest in medical devices can be considered for entry position
• Knowledge of medical device development, verification, and validation is a plus
• Familiarity with ISO 13485, GMP, and regulated manufacturing environments is preferred
• Experience with statistical tools (e.g., Minitab) is an advantage
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and time management skills
• Proactive team player with a hands-on mindset
