Job summary

A leading organisation in the Medical Device industry is seeking an experienced R&D Director in Singapore. The role involves leading multidisciplinary teams to develop innovative medical devices, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards, and collaborating closely with various departments to ensure seamless product launches. Ideal candidates will possess a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or Biomedical Engineering and have at least 8 years of relevant R&D experience. THE COMPANY

Our Client is a renowned organisation in the Medical Device industry with a strong presence within APAC. They are looking for an R&D Director as part of their expansion plans within the region, reporting directly to the CEO.

THE ROLE

The R&D Director is responsible for:

  • Lead multidisciplinary R&D teams in developing innovative medical device systems, ensuring safety, performance, and regulatory compliance.
  • Define product architecture, technology roadmap, and research strategy aligned with business goals.
  • Oversee design controls, risk management, verification/validation, and documentation in accordance with ISO 13485 and relevant regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate closely with Quality, Manufacturing, Clinical, Marketing, and external partners to ensure smooth design transfer and product launch.
REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or related field
  • Minimum 8 years of R&D experience in similar industry with leadership of complex system development.
  • Strong knowledge of design controls, regulatory requirements, and cross‑functional collaboration.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and strategic planning skills.
