Currie & Brown is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor (M&E) to join our Singapore team. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering cost consultancy services for mechanical and electrical (M&E) projects across various sectors, ensuring value, compliance, and client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare cost plans, budget estimates, and feasibility studies for M&E works.
- Manage tendering processes, including documentation, analysis, and procurement strategy.
- Administer contracts, including sub‑letting, change control, and interim valuations.
- Monitor project costs, prepare monthly financial reports, and manage final accounts.
- Provide commercial advice, conduct risk assessments, and support value engineering.
- Liaise with clients, consultants, and contractors to ensure project objectives are met.
- Mentor junior team members and contribute to internal knowledge sharing and training.
- Support business development through proposal preparation and client engagement.
- Excellent management and organisation skills, leading teams and nurturing talent.
- Effective communicator, building relationships through excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Extensive use of various forms of contract.
- Highly motivated member of the project team and effective communicator.
- Strong cost management leader ensuring efficient and effective cost control throughout the project life.
- Value engineering and optioneering to achieve project budget whilst maintaining client aspirations.
- Delivers a high standard of service in line with clients' requirements.
- Applies effective cost management and reporting approaches to prevent cost overruns.
Experience
- Diploma/Degree level in a relevant discipline such as M&E/Civil Engineering, Architecture, Project Management, or Building Services.
- Minimum 2–5 years of relevant experience in M&E quantity surveying.
- Strong understanding of M&E systems (e.g., ACMV, electrical, plumbing).
- Proficient in cost management tools (e.g., CostX, CADMeasure) and MS Office.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, influencing and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment.
- Skill in MS Word, Excel and MS Project.
- Passionate about Quantity Surveying/Commercial Services, with a desire to work within a leading consultancy.
- Understanding of current industry trends and willingness to learn.
- Confident, energetic and an ambitious self‑starter.
