Job summary

A construction engineering firm in Singapore is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to handle tender preparations, cost estimations, and manage procurement activities. The ideal candidate will have a diploma or degree in Quantity Surveying or related fields, with at least one year of M&E QS experience in the building construction industry. Job description
Responsibilities
  • Preparation of tender/quotation for submission with specific deadline and as well as cost estimation;
  • Responsible for taking off quantities, sourcing suppliers and sub-contractors, evaluation of price comparison and costing summary;
  • Preparation of Monthly Progress Claim and Payment Responses to both Client and Sub-Contractors/Suppliers and all related project administration and documentation;
  • Preparation of Contracts to Sub-Contractors and Suppliers;
  • Participate in sourcing activities based on procurement strategies/operational needs;
  • Manage day-to-day Purchase Order administration;
  • Handle and manage project procurement & cost control reporting, PO award and PO administration to final delivery and PO close out;
  • Develop and implement procurement strategies for cost savings opportunities;
  • Handle office administrative matters and preparation of quotation and variation order;
  • Co-ordinate and establish good working relationship with project team, customers, consultants and sub-contractors to facilitate effective co-ordination of work activities;
  • Provide assistance in keeping track of approvals during submission stage so as to ensure compliance with government authorities;
  • Carry out site measurement if necessary;
  • Other ad hoc duties as and when assigned by the superior or management.
Qualifications
  • Diploma/Degree in Quantity Surveying, Mechanical/ Electrical Engineering or its equivalent
  • Minimum 1 year M&E QS experience in the building construction industry
  • Computer literate with good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • Independent, committed, reliable, proactive and able to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines
