Job summary

A leading consulting firm in Singapore is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to prepare cost estimates and manage project budgets. The ideal candidate will have a Diploma or Degree in Quantity Surveying, at least 1–3 years of relevant experience, and strong knowledge of construction materials. Proficiency in MS Office and QS software is essential. This role involves working closely with project teams and negotiating with suppliers for competitive bids.

Job description

Prepare cost estimates, Bills of Quantities (BQ), and tender documents based on project drawings and specifications

Conduct material take-offs and quantity measurements

Evaluate subcontractor quotations and assist in tender submission

Contract & Procurement Management

Review contracts, terms, and conditions to ensure compliance with project requirements

Prepare and issue purchase orders, variation orders, and progress claims

Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing

Project Cost Control

Monitor project expenditure and update cost plans regularly

Conduct monthly cost reports, forecasting, and budget reviews

Track and manage variations, change orders, and additional works

Site Coordination

Work closely with project managers, site engineers, consultants, and subcontractors

Conduct site visits to verify progress, measurements, and material usage

Identify cost discrepancies and recommend corrective actions

Claims & Final Accounts

Prepare progress claims, subcontractor claims, and payment certifications

Manage contractual correspondences and documentation

Prepare final accounts for clients and subcontractors upon project completion

Job Requirements

Diploma/Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related disciplines.

At least 1–3 years of relevant experience (or specify senior/junior).

Strong knowledge of construction materials, costing, and contract administration.

Proficient in MS Office, AutoCAD, and QS software (e.g., CostX, Glodon).

Good analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.

Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines
