A leading engineering company in Singapore is seeking a detail-oriented Quality Technician to ensure high-quality standards in a high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environment. The role involves interpreting technical drawings, conducting inspections with advanced metrology equipment, and providing cross-functional support to various departments. Candidates should have relevant technical qualifications and experience in inspections using CMMs and laser trackers.
We are looking for a detail-oriented Quality Technician to join our team and ensure that every part we deliver meets the highest standards. In this role, you will interpret technical drawings, perform dimensional and final inspections using both hand tools and advanced metrology equipment (CMMs, laser trackers), and verify compliance with tight tolerances and specifications in a high-mix, low-volume environment. You will also be responsible for first article inspections, maintaining a clean and audit-ready inspection room, reporting and following up on deviations, and providing cross-functional support to Production, Engineering, and Procurement when needed. Read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and manuals to ensure that parts are inspected in accordance with the required dimensions and tolerances.
Perform dimensional inspections using hand tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, height gauges) and advanced metrology equipment, including CMM and laser trackers in a high-mix-low-volume environment.
Conduct in-process and final product inspections to ensure parts meet tight tolerances, engineering drawings, and internal/external specifications.
Identify, report, and follow up on quality deviations.
Ensure first article inspections (FAI) and final inspections are conducted to customer and internal standards
Maintain the Inspection Room’s cleanliness and functionality.
Contribute to maintaining a clean, organized, and audit-ready inspection area.
Provide cross-functional support to departments such as Production, Engineering, or Procurement when operationally required.
Higher NITEC in Engineering (Mechanical, Precision or Advanced Manufacturing) – or equivalent Technical Certificate from technical/vocational institutions with minimum 2 years of experience performing inspections using CMM and laser trackers in a high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environment.
Skilled in using precision inspection instruments, including CMMs.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, with strong knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
Basic understanding of AS9100 / ISO 9001 quality management requirements.
Willingness to support a cross-functional reporting team structure.
