Job summary

A leading offshore engineering firm in Singapore is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to develop the Basis of Design, oversee electrical engineering activities, and ensure compliance with standards for offshore oil and gas projects. Candidates should have a minimum of 10 years' experience in the industry, with at least 5 years on offshore processing projects, and have a strong understanding of electrical codes and standards. Qualifications

Job description

JOB REQUIREMENTS

To develop Basis of Design and ensuring compliance with project design philosophies, standards, procedures, and specifications. Overseeing all electrical engineering activities,prepare for and participate in HAZID/HAZOP, review of 3-D model, manage/control technical queries, interface information, RFQ (Request forQuotation) package preparation, Technical and Commercial evaluations of Vendor’s quotations, etc.

Knowledge of offshore and marine electrical codes, standard like IEC, NEC, ISO etc., including regulations, industry best design practices, Class Rules/Guidelines.

Experience in developing electrical single line diagrams, cable selection, routings and supporting, MCTselections, and final as-builts drawings preparation/review.

Knowledge and application of hazardous area classification and review of hazardous area plan. Preparation of specifications, RFQs, equipment data sheets for electrical cables, panels, switchgears, junctionboxes, motors, relays etc. Review of shipyards and Vendors detailed drawings/technical packages to retrieve the required information and resolving Client/Class review comments.

Collaborate with other team members specifically construction team members in resolving electrical design issues, interfacing with the Client as needed Supervise the manufacturing, installation, and operation of electrical systems to ensure they meet specifications and codes.

Other works as assigned by Project Engineering Manager/ General Manager, Engineering based on person’s forte and project requirements.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s/master's degree in electrical engineering.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT

Minimum 10 Years in electrical design and engineering work within the oil & gas industry especially forF(P)SO or floating installations. At least 5 years of this experience should be specifically in offshore oil &gas processing projects, including F(P)SO. A minimum of 3-5 years' experience should be in a senior or lead role, managing engineering teams or projects. Direct, hands-on experience in the engineering, procurement, construction, and installation (EPCI) phase of at least one F(P)SO is preferred.
