Job description
Role Overview

This role supports mechanical completion and commissioning activities for FPSO projects, covering both marine and topside mechanical systems. The position works closely with the Commissioning Manager, shipyard teams, vendors, and offshore personnel to ensure equipment is refurbished, installed, tested, and handed over in line with FPSO project and safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and inspect refurbishment, repair, calibration, and reinstatement of FPSO mechanical equipment, including marine and topside systems, as applicable to project scope.
  • Support the Commissioning Manager in executing FPSO mechanical completion and commissioning plans, procedures, and handover documentation.
  • Oversee installation, alignment, reinstatement, and field testing of mechanical equipment to confirm readiness for commissioning and offshore operation.
  • Assist in developing technical and procurement specifications for FPSO machinery, including preparation of spare parts and critical equipment requisitions.
  • Ensure preservation of mechanical equipment during shipyard and offshore phases, maintaining FPSO-specific preservation and reinstatement records.
  • Prepare and manage inspection, testing, and verification documentation covering equipment refurbishment, installation, testing, and mechanical completion.
  • Coordinate with shipyard construction and commissioning teams for inspection callouts, repair verification, and acceptance of refurbished equipment.
  • Participate in Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs), vendor inspections, and equipment performance checks when required.
  • Manage mechanical completion of assigned FPSO systems and ensure structured handover to commissioning, including system dossiers and completion certification.
  • Review Mechanical Manufacturing Data Books (MDBs) and vendor documentation to verify compliance with FPSO project specifications, class, and client requirements.
  • Interface with Quality teams to manage punch lists, close out NCRs, and achieve mechanical completion acceptance.
  • Provide daily mechanical progress updates to the Project Manager and contribute to FPSO project reporting on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
  • Support offshore commissioning activities as required, including sail-away readiness, offshore hook-up support, and commissioning campaigns.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Project Manager in support of FPSO project delivery.
