Job summary

A leading recruitment agency is seeking a seasoned Engineering Manager to oversee multi-functional projects in manufacturing. The ideal candidate will have 10-15 years of experience in engineering, particularly in plastic injection molding, and will be responsible for leading project teams to ensure optimal operational efficiency. A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required, with a preference for candidates holding a Master's or PMP certification. This role is based in Batam, with office hours from Monday to Friday.

Job description
  • Work Location: Batam
  • Working hours: Mondays to Fridays Office Hour
Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop engineering and project teams, ensuring high performance and capability growth.
  • Manage complex, multi-site or multi-functional projects from award to mass production, including turnkey manufacturing and assembly projects.
  • Oversee plastic injection molding, mold fabrication, and tooling management, providing technical guidance on design, process concepts, and automation solutions.
  • Plan and monitor projects, including budgeting, scheduling, risk management, and resource allocation.
  • Ensure manufacturing engineering principles are applied effectively, including DFM/DFA, mold flow analysis, tooling validation, and NPI processes (APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plans).
  • Drive continuous improvement, Lean Manufacturing, and Six Sigma initiatives to optimize processes and operational efficiency.
  • Engage with customers, internal teams, and external suppliers, presenting project status, technical solutions, and risk mitigation clearly.
  • Support hands‑on activities on the shop floor when required, demonstrating a practical and results‑oriented approach.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or related Engineering discipline; Master’s degree or PMP certification is a plus.
  • 10–15 years of experience in engineering and project management within a manufacturing environment, including at least 5 years in a senior management or leadership role.
  • Strong expertise in plastic injection molding, mold fabrication, tooling management, and turnkey manufacturing projects.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing complex projects from design to mass production.
  • Strong technical competencies in manufacturing engineering, project planning, budgeting, scheduling, risk management, DFM/DFA, mold flow analysis, tooling validation, and NPI processes.
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and develop teams while managing stakeholders across customers, internal functions, and suppliers.
