Role Summary

The Project Engineer of our Clean Factory Automation department is a highly specialised position responsible for managing a team of engineers, subcontractors, and vendors on a project site involving the installation of our warehouse automation systems. The Project Engineer is highly familiar with Automated Material Handling Systems (AMHS) and understands the technical requirements for the installation. The Project Engineer also serves as an essential communication bridge between the design team in Japan and the local project members to resolve technical issues throughout the project.

This position is on a contract basis for 18 months.

Role and Responsibilities
  1. Manage a team of local engineers, subcontractors, and vendors to complete work required for an installation project within a given time frame.
  2. Resolve site issues with subcontractors, vendors, and other third parties that are involved in the project.
  3. Manage the project work schedule to ensure that the project can be completed on time.
  4. Resolve any technical issues related to our warehouse automation systems that are beyond the capabilities of the local engineering team.
  5. Communicate and elevate any high-level issues with the design team in Japan, following up to achieve resolution for technical issues.
  6. Attend regular meetings and communications with relevant stakeholders, both internal and external, on the progress of the project.
  7. Provide training and guidance for the local junior engineers who are taking part in the project.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
  • Minimum requirement of a Diploma in an engineering-related discipline.
  • At least 7 years of experience on installation projects involving Automated Material Handling Systems (AMHS) for Semiconductor Fab.
  • High degree of Japanese language proficiency for business communication with our Japanese counterparts.
Preferred Qualities
  • Familiarity with automated storage and retrieval systems is essential.
  • Independent individual with high initiative as our company’s primary representative at the project site.
  • Able to commit for the duration of the project.
