Job summary

A well-established engineering services company in Singapore is seeking a Project Engineer to support project management in building engineering. The ideal candidate should have a diploma in Electrical Engineering, a minimum of 5 years of experience in the electrical trade, and a solid understanding of electrical systems. This role offers a full-time position with competitive compensation up to $4,500 plus bonuses.

Position: Project Engineer (Building Engineering)

Working Hours: Monday – Friday (8.30am – 5.30pm), Saturday (8.30am – 1pm)

Employment Type: Permanent (Full-time)

Salary (commensurate with experience): Up to $4,500 + Variable Bonus

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Project Manager in planning, execution, and monitoring of electrical works according to project schedules and specifications.
• Attend and participate in coordination meetings with main contractors, consultants, and clients to resolve technical and site issues.
• Liaise with sub-contractors and suppliers on work progress, materials delivery, and technical clarifications.
• Coordinate delivery schedules, verify quantities and quality of materials received, and certify invoices for payment to sub-contractors and suppliers.
• Support in preparing variation orders, change requests, and documentation for project claims.
• Ensure all work complies with relevant codes of practice, regulations, and safety standards.
• Maintain proper project documentation and filing of correspondence, drawings, and reports.

Requirements

• Diploma in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification (Degree preferred).
• Minimum 5 years of experience in the electrical trade, preferably within the building services or MEP industry.
• Strong understanding of electrical systems (e.g. switchgear, cabling, lighting, earthing, power distribution).
• Familiar with BCA, EMA, and Singapore electrical codes and safety requirements.
• Able to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and technical specifications.
• Willing to travel/visit sites frequently, and able to adapt to on-site environment (construction zones, outdoor conditions).
