Introduction
We are looking for a Project Engineer with experience in steel structure works, who will manage day-to-day project activities, liaise with all relevant parties, and ensure the project is executed and delivered according to plan.
Job Responsibilities of Project Engineer
- Liaise with clients, consultants, authorities, and internal teams to ensure full compliance with local construction regulations and by-laws.
- Promote and enforce safety awareness, ensuring proper implementation of workplace safety measures and hazard controls.
- Review, interpret, and manage all technical drawings, engineering plans, and specifications to ensure alignment with project requirements.
- Engage and negotiate with suppliers and vendors, including preparation of cost estimates and evaluation of quotations.
- Oversee the selection, requisition, and coordination of materials, tools, and equipment while ensuring timely availability according to project needs.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot technical or machinery-related issues as they arise during the course of the project.
- Develop detailed work schedules, track project progress, and prepare recovery or catch-up plans where required.
- Conduct product-specific training or provide technical clarifications to the site workforce whenever necessary.
- Manage day-to-day site activities, including task delegation, supervision, and monitoring of the site labour force.
- Ensure subcontractors adhere to quality procedures and workmanship standards, including verification of work quality and quantities.
- Identify, discuss, and resolve unexpected technical issues, discrepancies, or challenges to achieve project targets for schedule and quality.
- Gather site data, compile progress reports, and prepare presentations on site conditions and required adjustments.
- Provide regular progress updates to the Project Manager, clients, and their representatives.
- Offer technical advice and propose engineering improvements to enhance project efficiency and constructability.
Site Engineer Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction or similar
- Relevant experience is a bonus
- Organizational and co-ordinational skills
- Project management and scheduling skills
- Analyzing and problem-solving skills
- Communication skills
- A driver's license (Class 3)
