Job summary
A construction firm in Singapore is seeking a qualified individual for a technical role to support site planning and project compliance. Responsibilities include performing inspections, coordinating with clients and supply chains, and ensuring safety and quality standards are met. Preferred candidates have a degree in engineering and 3-5 years of relevant experience in construction projects.
Qualifications
- Recognized Degree / Diploma in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or equivalent.
- 3 – 5 years’ working experience in technical role in the Construction Industry.
- Candidates with residential project experience are preferred.
- Experience with structural steel would be advantageous.
Responsibilities
- Perform site planning, coordination & inspection for project timelines and budget.
- Assist in compliance with ISO standards and client requirements.
- Update progress of structural works and compile reports.
- Prepare and communicate engineering plans and resolve technical issues.
- Liaise with clients, consultants, and authorities on site issues.
- Adhere to safety requirements during the construction phase.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Operational Support -
- Perform site planning, coordination & inspection relating to the construction project so as to ensure that the project completion timeline, requirements and budget are met
- Assist in the implementation of project operations to comply with ISO standard requirements, documented procedures as well as client, companies,authorities’ requirements
- Update the progress of structural works in the Progress Reports
- Assist in commissioning including coordination of structural engineering
- Maintain the proper documentation of inspection forms and other follow-up inspections from RE
- Support Quantity Surveyors in conducting site measurement and inspections
Technical Support -
- Prepare, interpret and communicate engineering plans and specifications
- Provide technical support and advices as well as resolve technical problems
- Assist in the preparation of Construction Method Statements and other technical proposals
- Compile progress reports to update the progress of structural works in the assigned project
- Support the preparation of value engineering and alternative solutions taking into consideration cost, schedule, maintenance, and life-cycle cost implications
- Coordinate with RE and RTO on site issues
Customer Management -
- Liaise with clients, consultants, sub-contractors, suppliers and all relevant authorities
Safety & Quality -
- Adhere and comply with safety requirements with regulatory and industry standards during the construction phase
- Ensure works are in compliance to quality procedures and within standard workmanship requirements
REQUIREMENTS
- Recognized Degree / Diploma in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or equivalent
- 3 – 5 years’ working experience in technical role in the Construction Industry
