Role Overview

The Programme Manager (Community Engagement) leads Tasek’s efforts to build strong, meaningful connections across its community-facing initiatives. This role oversees outreach, partnership building, and programme delivery for:

  • The Beacon – a vibrant and inclusive community hub offering outreach programmes, skills workshops, and collaborative initiatives to strengthen community bonds.

  • Youth Hub – a drop-in centre offering a safe, engaging environment for young people to participate in positive activities, develop life skills, and build supportive relationships.

  • Beacon of Life (BOL) – an ex-inmate peer support group providing mentorship, circles of support, and life skills development to facilitate successful reintegration.

Working closely with programme, mentoring & casework, and volunteer management teams, the Programme Manager ensures that engagement strategies are responsive to needs, collaborative in approach, and impactful in outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement outreach strategies to raise awareness of The Beacon, Beacon of Life (BOL), and Youth Hub programmes.
  • Plan, coordinate, and oversee the delivery of activities, workshops, and events across all three initiatives.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with residents, volunteers, partners, and community organisations.
  • Collaborate with partners for joint initiatives, sponsorships, and shared resources.
  • Support volunteers and partners to ensure quality programme delivery.
  • Work with colleagues to document impact stories, prepare publicity materials, and advocate for community strengths, youth potential, and second chances.
  • Track outreach metrics, programme participation, and participant progress, and prepare periodic reports for stakeholders.
  • Ensure programmes are inclusive, relevant, and responsive to evolving community needs.

  • Competent in data management to track programme success rate metrics.
Qualifications & Other Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, community development, youth work, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in community engagement, outreach, or programme management.
  • Proven ability to work with diverse stakeholders, including vulnerable groups.
  • Experience in volunteer management and event coordination.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends in line with programme needs.
  • Preferably with experience in the social sector, particularly with at-risk youth, ex-inmates, or socially disadvantaged communities.
  • Familiarity with strengths-based and community development approaches.
