Job summary

A leading marine engineering company in Singapore seeks an experienced engineer to lead the design and integration of marine electrical power and automation systems. The ideal candidate will have over 10 years of experience in marine/offshore engineering design with a strong understanding of IEC/IEEE/NEC standards. Proficiency in tools like AutoCAD and excellent communication skills are essential. This role requires collaboration with various stakeholders to effectively resolve technical issues.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years in marine/offshore engineering design.
  • Degree or Diploma in Electrical/Automation or relevant discipline.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, review, and integration of marine electrical power systems.
  • Conduct studies on short circuit and protection systems.
  • Develop and review single line diagrams and equipment specifications.
  • Prepare detailed designs including schematics and layouts.

Job description
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the design, review, and integration of marine electrical power, automation, and navigation/communication systems.
  • Conduct studies and reviews on short circuit, harmonics, protection systems, discrimination, and FMEA.
  • Develop and review single line diagrams, control topologies, load analysis, voltage drop calculations, lux intensity analysis, and equipment specifications per project and classification requirements.
  • Prepare detailed designs including schematics, layouts, cable routing plans, and termination drawings.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, stakeholders, vendors, and class authorities to resolve technical issues.
Experience & Qualifications:
  • Minimum 10 years in marine/offshore engineering design.
  • Degree or Diploma in Electrical/Automation or relevant discipline.
Skills & Attributes:
  • Strong knowledge of marine power, automation, and navigation systems.
  • Familiarity with IEC/IEEE/NEC standards and marine regulations.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, AVEVA.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and teamwork skills.

Liaises With: Engineering teams, shipyard departments, external designers, vendors, owners, and class authorities.
