Job description

Being part of the preschool team, you will nurture children of diverse backgrounds and needs through supporting and assisting main class teachers in providing integrated and differentiated learning experiences. You will be part of the classroom team that engages and partners parents and various community partners to extend children’s learning beyond the classroom. You will also grow reflectively and professionally as an educator through in-house and external trainings, workshops and conferences.

Assist

  • Plan and implement integrated lessons in accordance with centre’s policies and framework, meeting needs of diverse learners
  • Set up quality learning environments
  • Observe and document children’s learning
  • Integrate respectfulness, responsiveness and reciprocity within the curriculum

Foster and support

  • Respectful, responsive and reciprocal interaction with each child
  • Children’s development of secure attachments through warm, consistent and nurturing caregiving

Collaborate

  • Intentional in building trusting and respectful partnerships with parents and families
  • Actively engages in centre initiatives and supports its collaborative efforts with the community

Education, Skills, and Competencies

Education and Experience

  • [Preferred] Advanced Certificate in Early Years (ACECCE) or Certificate in Early Childhood Care and Education
  • ** Candidates completing Early Childhood Education related course within 6 months may apply.**

Technical Skills and Competencies

  • Adequate knowledge of current early childhood care and education development theories, research and practices
  • First-aid certified
