Position Summary
The Presales Manager is responsible for driving customer engagement and business growth by combining technical credibility with commercial leadership. Working closely with solution, product and delivery teams, you will position Alpha X’s offerings, develop tailored proposals and Return on Investment (ROI)‑backed business cases, and lead Proof of Concepts (POCs), demonstrations and technical validations to support deal closure. The role also contributes to regional go‑to‑market activities and helps scale the presales capability.
Key Responsibilities
Solution Consulting & Deal Ownership
- Map customer requirements to appropriate solution offerings and define commercial scope for strategic deals
- Lead and architect POCs, demos and technical validations for multi‑account or high‑value opportunities.
- Produce compelling value propositions, business cases and quantified ROI models that address customer pain points and ROI expectations.
- Own technical responses to Request for Proposals (RFPs) and lead technical negotiations within agreed commercial limits.
- Ensure clear handover to delivery with complete Scope of Work (SOW) and key requirements.
Pipeline Shaping & Market Development
- Contribute to regional pipeline development by prioritising pre‑sales efforts and coordinating POCs to support higher win probability.
- Drive demand generation through targeted campaigns, roadshows and industry events in coordination with marketing.
- Build and manage strategic partner and system integrators relationships to expand reach and co‑sell motions.
Presales Enablement & Assets
- Create, standardise and maintain reusable presales assets: POC templates, demo kits and playbooks. Provide guidance and frameworks to support customer ROI assessments.
- Support POC activities by liaising with customers, aligning on scope, and ensuring clear evaluation criteria to facilitate timely validation.
- Implement presales processes and best practices to improve efficiency and consistency across the region.
Leadership & Stakeholder Management
- Lead, mentor and guide junior sales team members (direct or dotted‑line) aligned with company’s expansion.
- Coordinate closely with sales leadership, product and delivery to influence roadmap, pricing and solution packaging.
- Represent Alpha X’s technical position in contract and scope discussions, escalating commercial exceptions per HQ policy.
Regional & Ad hoc Responsibilities
- Participate in regional strategic initiatives, partner enablement and executive customer engagements.
- Support post‑sale escalations and high‑impact customer workshops to protect customer satisfaction.
- Perform any ad‑hoc duties assigned by the Company as and when required.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business or a related discipline.
- Minimum 8–10+ years’ experience in presales, solution consulting or technical sales with demonstrable regional or strategic deal impact.
- Deep familiarity with MES/MCS, factory automation, IoT, cloud/edge architectures or AI‑based industrial solutions; hands‑on POC and demo environment experience.
- Proven ability to support ROI assessments, influence deal economics, respond to RFPs and support technical negotiations.
- Experience mentoring or managing presales engineers; able to scale processes, create playbooks and develop team capability.
- Excellent presentation, written communication and executive‑level stakeholder management skills; able to translate technical capability into business value.
- Willingness to travel regionally (~20–30%).
- Fluent English; Mandarin or other regional languages advantageous.
Preferred / Additional
- Prior exposure to MES/MCS implementations, system integrators or OEM environments.
- Track record of reducing POC cycle time and increasing win rate through reusable assets.
- Experience with partner/channel co selling models and partner enablement.
- Familiarity with commercial limits for POC spend and ability to operate within delegated authority.
