Role context: The Business Development Advisor, based in Singapore, is part of a global, multi-disciplinary team that leads commercial and business negotiations, leveraging strategic thinking and communication to deliver value-accretive priorities in Low Carbon Solutions (LCS). The role supports marketing of low-carbon ammonia and a cross-border carbon capture and storage (CCS) project, with increasing levels of responsibility over time.

What you will do
  • Understand, construct, negotiate, execute and operationalize agreements for the commercialization of new opportunities in Low Carbon Solutions (LCS).
  • Mature selected opportunities from inception through to investment decision by:
    • Being a key internal interface to ensure alignment and, as necessary, obtain endorsements
    • Working closely with projects, public and government affairs, law, finance, marine, supply chain and operations to advance projects as one ExxonMobil
    • Leveraging insights from these teams to converge on an attractive business case, integrating commercial, regulatory and technical attributes
  • Interface to LCS customers and stakeholders (government, partners), developing and strengthening relationships across the value chain
  • Represent ExxonMobil LCS in trade associations and government engagements, and collaborate with other departments for attendance and participation at conferences and trade fairs
  • Provide competitive market insights to support market strategies and analysis; identify potentially attractive LCS opportunities across multiple products and value chains (CCS, H2, NH3, and Low Carbon Data Centers)
Skills, Qualifications & Experience
  • Master’s in Business Administration or Masters in Management from a world-class institution
  • At least 3-5 years prior experience in:
    • Corporate Finance (Investment Banking, Private Equity)
    • Corporate Development or Business Development (not sales)
    • Strategy
    • Engineering/ technical
  • Experience with:
    • Creation, comprehension, navigation and manipulation of Excel models
    • Creation of presentations for internal management and external partners
    • Review of and preferably markup of legal agreements, including term sheets and long-forms
    • Multidisciplinary and international collaboration across time zones
Preferred Qualifications/Experience
  • Preference for some deal execution and negotiations experience
  • Financial (cash flow) modelling or business case modelling
  • Direct experience with oil & gas, power, CCS or H2 value chains
  • International experience with joint ventures and partner frameworks
