Job description

The Foreman is responsible for managing all plant operations and employees during any designated assigned shift.

  • Responsible for daily plant operations as directed by the Plant Manager.
  • Ensures proper operation of all plant and heavy equipment; supervises all tasks performed by process operators or truck dumpers and any others on assigned shift.
  • Oversees logistics of raw material and finish feed activities; maintains quality assurance.
  • Responsible for accuracy and tracking of plant production reporting for assigned shift(s).
  • Monitors hours of employees under his/her authority; reports shift inefficiencies; ensures employees are working to highest potential.
  • Maintains cleanliness of plant at all times and at end of shift.
  • Maintains safety as top priority in accordance with all company safety rules and regulations.
  • All other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience in an industrial or plant setting.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience in a rendering facility, preferred.
  • Work well with others in a team; demonstrates leadership ability.
  • Highly organized; superior time management skills.
  • Exceptional communication skills both written and oral.
  • Safety conscience; detail oriented; able to multi-task.
  • Good mechanical skills; knowledge of plant processes and equipment.
Physical Demands
  • Frequently required to walk, stand, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crawl, and crouch.
  • Frequently must push, pull, move or lift up to 100 lbs.
  • Regularly required reach with hands and arms.

Job functions will be carried out in a plant environment.
