Job summary

A local education provider in Singapore is seeking a passionate educator to conduct engaging phonics lessons for children aged 3 to 7 years. The ideal candidate will have prior teaching experience and relevant certifications in early childhood education. Responsibilities include assessing student progress, creating a supportive classroom environment, and communicating with parents. Candidates must be energetic, patient, and able to work on Sundays and selected weekdays.

Qualifications

  • Experience in teaching phonics or early childhood education preferred.
  • Relevant certifications such as Jolly Phonics or Letterland are advantageous.
  • Strong passion for working with young children.

Job Responsibilities
  • Conduct engaging and structured phonics lessons for children aged 3 to 7 years old.
  • Deliver lessons using established curriculum materials and teaching methodologies.
  • Assess students’ reading and phonetic progress regularly and provide feedback to parents.
  • Create a positive, encouraging, and inclusive classroom environment that supports different learning abilities.
  • Prepare teaching materials and maintain records of students’ learning development.
  • Communicate professionally with parents regarding student progress and learning needs.
  • Attend training sessions, meetings, and development workshops when required.
  • Ensure safety and classroom discipline are maintained during lessons.
Requirements
  • Preferably with prior teaching experience in phonics, early childhood education, reading programmes, or related fields.
  • Candidates with L2/L1 ECDA certification, diploma in early childhood, or relevant phonics certifications (e.g., Jolly Phonics, Letterland, etc.) will have an advantage.
  • Passionate about working with young children and helping them grow in reading and language skills.
  • Strong communication skills and a clear, pleasant speaking voice.
  • Patient, energetic, and able to engage children in fun, interactive learning.
  • Able to work on Sunday afternoons (highest priority) and selected weekdays.
