Key Responsibilities
Functional Leadership
- Analyze the business requirements and convert them to technical requirements for the Payments platform implementation, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture, IT standards and business objectives.
- Be the “go to” person for all functional needs for the requirements.
- Be a trusted advisor for business stakeholders on the functional implementations.
- Establish and enforce governance needs, compliance with security, scalability and performance requirements.
Solution Design, Development and Integration
- Be part of the solution design and development discussions. Provide inputs for the seamless integration with vendor solutions like Finastra GPP and with bank’s core and downstream systems like CASA / Trade Finance / Lending / Markets.
- Take ownership for the data models and dictionaries between systems for the appropriate integration.
- Have a complete control on the requirements for the integrations with third-party Payment systems and regulatory systems.
- Support system migration, ensuring minimal disruption and data integrity during transitional phases.
- Collaborate with vendors, internal IT teams, and stakeholders to provide the required solutions and troubleshoot issues wherever applicable.
Risk and Quality Management
- Identify and mitigate operational and technical risks throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring high-quality deliverables that meet business and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct configuration reviews and performance tuning to ensure robust and scalable implementations.
Stakeholder and Vendor Management
- Work closely with business stakeholders, IT teams, and vendors to ensure alignment between technical and business objectives.
- Act as the primary liaison between internal teams and platform vendors, ensuring smooth integration and issue resolution.
- Provide functional insights and updates to senior management, supporting strategic decision-making and project governance.
Continuous Improvement
- Stay updated with emerging industry trends, driving innovation in technology and core banking systems.
- Document best practices, functional standards, and lessons learned to support future implementations and organizational knowledge sharing.
Key Skills and Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Certifications
- Any cloud certifications could be added advantage (AWS or Azure)
- SWIFT Certifications if any, for instance, ISO 20022, could be value add.
- Other Product Certifications will be advantageous.
ISO 20022 Knowledge
- ISO 20022 knowledge on the message formats for SWIFT.
- Hands on experience working with both MT and MX message details and nuances.
Years of Experience
- 20+/15+ years of experience in functional roles, including business analysis, test case review, solution design, integration, and implementation.
- 15+/10+ years of experience working on Payments Systems (Experience in working with Finastra GPP will be added advantage).
- Experience on CASA / Trade Finance / Lending / Markets would be added advantage.
