Job Overview:

Dona Manis Cake Shop, known for its artisanal pastries and signature banana pies, is seeking a dedicated Pastry Chef cum Production Supervisor to lead our kitchen team. The role requires balancing hands‑on pastry creation with day‑to‑day management of production operations, ensuring that every product upholds our traditional quality and reputation.

Key Responsibilities
Pastry Chef Duties:
  • Prepare and oversee the baking of signature products such as banana pies, puff pastries, and other baked goods.
  • Maintain consistent product quality, taste, and presentation according to Dona Manis’ standards.
  • Innovate and develop new pastries in line with the brand's traditional yet evolving identity.
  • Ensure kitchen hygiene, cleanliness, and food safety standards are strictly followed.
  • Train and mentor junior bakers and kitchen assistants.
Production Supervisor Duties:
  • Plan and manage daily production schedules to meet sales demands.
  • Monitor and manage inventory of ingredients, packaging materials, and kitchen supplies.
  • Implement production efficiencies while minimizing wastage.
  • Supervise production staff: manage work schedules, assign duties, and oversee performance.
  • Coordinate with suppliers for timely ordering and delivery of raw materials.
  • Ensure the upkeep and maintenance of all baking equipment.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience as a Pastry Chef, Baker, or similar role, preferably in a traditional bakery setting.
  • Prior experience managing a small to mid‑sized kitchen team.
  • Strong understanding of traditional baking techniques.
  • Knowledge of food hygiene and safety standards (e.g., SFA regulations).
