A local consultancy in Singapore is seeking a qualified counsellor to conduct counselling sessions for students. The successful candidate will be responsible for facilitating meetings with school heads, managing at-risk student cases, and ensuring ethical handling of counselling records. Responsibilities

  • Conduct counselling sessions for students with both appointments and drop-ins.
  • Facilitate regular meetings with HOD Student Development.
  • Prepare documents and provide updates on at-risk cases.
Job description
The Services required are set out as follows:
  • Conduct counselling sessions for students who have made appointments or drop‑in cases; provide and sustain consistent quality service with close monitoring and professional follow‑up of cases.
  • Facilitate meetings with HOD Student Development and provide timely updated information on student counselees (monthly).
  • Prepare relevant documents and meet with HOD Student Development to update progress of AT‑RISK/HIGH RISK cases, and whenever a case is deemed ‘closed’ (monthly).
  • Prepare for and participate in Case Management Team meetings, and take necessary follow‑up actions as discussed.
  • Regularly monitor and manage the online booking portal for counselling cases (basic training will be provided by the school).
  • Collaborate with relevant stakeholders and assist in crisis management, should the situation arise (throughout the duration of the Contract).
Qualifications & Requirements

Applicants should follow school’s SOP with regard to consultation and feedback to relevant school personnel on students counselled, dealing with parents, maintenance of counselling records and handover of cases at the end of the contract to ensure continuity of support for the students.

Applicants should also respect that the counselling records of students are the property of the school and that the records would not be taken out of the school at any time without permission by the school.

The successful candidate will have to sign an undertaking to safeguard official information.

The counsellor must abide by the “Ethical Standards for School Counsellors in Singapore”.
