JOB PURPOSE
Provide planning, development, and implementation of key activities and initiatives aimed at building up the national donor pool as well as maintaining and growing our pool of dedicated volunteers.
Working in close partnership with key stakeholders from Blood Services Group (BSG) and Singapore Red Cross (SRC), she/he will recruit, mobilise and engage eligible volunteers to support relevant public education (outreach activities such as roadshows, learning journeys, blood donation talks etc.), donor engagement, tele-recruitment, and blood-donation-related activities.
In addition, the incumbent will engage educational institutions, corporate, government, and community organisations to educate, recruit, retain, and recognise blood donors while supporting in organising community blood drives and group donations to build the national blood supply.
Hours of Work
21 Jan 2026 - 20 Jan 2027: 3 or 4 working days per week, including Saturday, and Sunday when required.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to advocate on blood donation.
- Undertake outreach and engagement activities towards expanding the donor pool (especially youths), including planning and organising roadshows, guided tours in the bloodbanks, blood donation talks etc.
- Assist in BDP’s volunteer programme, including recruiting, engaging, mobilising and managing our volunteer pool.
- Conduct relevant training to volunteers on blood donor recruitment and servicing.
- Engage BDP’s community partners towards developing a viable volunteer pool (especially skilled volunteers) from their employees/membership base.
- Assist in the planning for World Blood Donor Day 2026 event.
- Assist in the planning for National Blood Programme 80th Anniversary event.
- Undertake relevant administrative tasks, including but not limited to creating and maintaining volunteer and blood-drive records, updating SOPs and educational collateral etc.
JOB SPECIFICATION
Qualifications:
- Diploma in any discipline.
Experience:
- Candidate(s) with a history of relevant voluntary/internship experience will have an added advantage.
Required experience, skills, and knowledge
- Demonstrated interest in the non-profit/charity sector.
- Familiarity with the blood donation landscape and donor behaviour in Singapore.
- Experience in project or event management will be advantageous.
- Ability to prioritise work responsibilities/multitask, organise own work schedule.
- Think on the feet, make decisions and carry out responsibilities without the need for direct supervision.
- Communicate, negotiate, and engage professionally and confidently with people from all walks of life.
- Self-motivated, responsible, adopts a proactive approach to every aspect of work.
- Manage, grow, and utilise a team of volunteers from diverse backgrounds and with different interests/skillsets.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to tailor key messages and adopt different approaches for different audiences.
- Able to work from Tuesday to Saturday and occasionally on Sunday and some weekday evenings (when required).
- Able to deliver a high level of customer service skills and a keen eye for detail.
- Possesses Business-level proficiency in Microsoft Office.
