Location: Peranakan Mansion, 283A Joo Chiat Road
Days: Tuesday, Thursday & Saturday
Time: 11:00am – 7:00pm (with occasional evening events)
Pay: $12/hour

About the Role

The museum is looking for a female part-time photographer who is a good communicator, people-oriented, confident, with good energy and a pleasant personality to enhance the guest experience at Peranakan Mansion.

This role combines photography, photo editing, guest engagement, encouraging visitors to consider kebaya dress-up and photography, light styling, and simple sales.

Key Responsibilities
Guest Photography
  • Capture flattering portraits of individuals, couples and groups, bringing out the best of both the subject and the beauty of the museum.
  • Guide guests on posing, their best angles and expressions to achieve the most flattering results.
  • Confidently operate a DSLR camera in low-light indoor settings and outdoor areas.
  • Assist in simple videoing for guests for social media as required.
  • Conduct event photography, including occasional evening events when required.
  • Perform photo culling and basic (exposure, colour, crop, light retouch) to deliver quality images according to the lead photographer's standards.
Styling & Presentation
  • Advise guests during dress-up on suitable colours for their skin tone.
  • Assist female guests respectfully and professionally with dress-up, fitting and hair.
  • Ensure guests feel well-presented and confident for their shoot.
  • Warmly communicate, engage and encourage guests with upbeat, positive energy.
Sales & Engagement
  • Explain clearly the kebaya & photography offerings, hairstyling and makeup services.
  • Collect payment using the museum’s payment methods.
  • When not actively taking photos, work alongside museum staff to proactively upsell:
    • Museum workshops & experiences
    • Mementos and gifts
    • Additional photos / edited sets / professional photography package
Content Creation
  • Prepare social media content and reels for use on the museum’s platforms, aligned with brand guidelines.
  • Capture behind-the-scenes and feature content that highlights Peranakan culture, the venue and guest experiences.
Service & Brand Representation
  • Be a friendly, confident ambassador of Peranakan Mansion.
  • Share simple, accurate talking points about Peranakan culture (training provided).
  • Protect and maintain the museum’s image, tone and visual standards.
Requirements
  • Female (to assist female guests with dress-up).
  • Able to commit Tues, Thurs & Sat (or selected weekdays plus weekends) consistently, with flexibility for occasional evening events.
  • Experienced with low-light photography and outdoor portraiture.
  • Proficient in basic photo editing (any common software or AI apps).
  • Speaks English and Mandarin (other languages are a bonus).
  • Confident, approachable, well-groomed, and comfortable initiating conversations with guests.
  • Bonus: Experience in portrait photography, events, or social media content creation.
Remuneration
  • $12/hour (7–9 hours per shift)
