Our Equity Options team is looking for a Trading Systems Engineer (TSE) to provide high performance, mission critical support for our proprietary trading systems. The role is to maintain a healthy trading environment and provide on-the-floor technical support. The TSE will also work on longer-term engineering projects collaborating closely with traders, researchers and developers to ensure maximum trading profitability by contributing to scalable, efficient, performant, clean systems and well-defined workflows. The TSE will coordinate with operations, business liaisons and infrastructure teams to communicate with exchanges, brokers and other external parties to ensure a stable and efficient environment for our option trading strategies.

What you’ll be working on:

  • Work as part of a team to establish best-in-class production support, efficient software deployment, configuration processes and proactive monitoring, with the goal of anticipating and avoiding issues before they occur, minimizing downtime and recovering quickly from any incidents
  • Understand and potentially develop proprietary process automation and monitoring tools and leverage third-party technologies as appropriate
  • Troubleshoot trading system production incidents resulting from internal (proprietary software/systems) or external factors (markets, data feeds, telecommunication lines) in time-critical situations.
  • Understanding Option Trading in the APAC region to best enable trading
  • Coordinate efforts with European and US Option trading teams to share best practices and ensure continuity and consistency of support in a 24x7 environment
  • Understand exchange data center layout and hardware infrastructure to optimise our setup and configuration

Qualifications & Skills:

  • 1-3 years working trade support, site reliability engineering or related fields
  • Bachelor’s degree in STEM field, ideally computer engineering related
  • Basic networking knowledge, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP and common network troubleshooting tools
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues under pressure
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal for audiences of varying backgrounds
  • Thrives in high-pressure situations while working alongside traders, developers and other engineering teams
  • Knowledge of Linux/Unix environments
  • Knowledge of database usage (SQL, NoSQL, Postgres)
  • Experience with scripting languages (e.g. Python, Bash, PowerShell) for automation tasks
  • Experience with Distributed Systems
  • Strong understanding of modern DevOps and CICD
  • Experience with using and/or building Restful web services
