Job summary
The Operations Manager – Risk, Resilience & Workplace Safety is a strategic leadership role responsible for safeguarding the organisation’s people, assets, and reputation. This position drives risk management, business continuity, workplace safety, and compliance initiatives across all schools and headquarters, ensuring a safe and resilient environment for children, staff, and stakeholders in the early childhood education sector.
Job responsibilities
- Collaborate with school leaders and relevant stakeholders to coordinate non-routine incidents and matters, ensuring timely resolution with minimal disruption.
- Work closely with Facilities (or Facilities Management) department to coordinate maintenance, physical improvements, and upkeep of the school infrastructure — ensuring all facilities meet safety, compliance, and quality standards.
- Develop and lead the Risk & Resilience Strategy aligned with organisational goals and regulatory requirements.
- Advise senior leadership on emerging risks, resilience priorities, and safeguarding measures.
- Serve as the risk governance lead, ensuring robust frameworks and reporting to the Board/Executive Committee.
- Establish and maintain a comprehensive Risk Management Framework for HQ and centres.
- Ensure compliance with licensing standards, and sector specific regulations.
- Oversee audits and risk assessments, providing actionable insights for continuous improvement.
- Design and implement HQ and School level Business Continuity Plans (BCP).
- Lead crisis response teams during emergencies, ensuring swift recovery and minimal disruption.
- Conduct regular BCP drills and resilience training for school leaders and staff.
- Champion safeguarding policies to protect children and staff from harm.
- Collaborate with school leadership to embed safety culture and incident reporting protocols.
- Oversee investigations and implement corrective actions for safety-related incidents.
- Act as the primary liaison with regulators, auditors, and external partners on risk and compliance matters.
- Deliver training and workshops on risk awareness, safeguarding, and data protection.
- Mentor school leaders to strengthen operational resilience and risk ownership.
- Develop and enforce WSH policies and procedures across all schools and HQ.
- Conduct regular safety audits, hazard assessments, and emergency preparedness drills.
- Drive a culture of safety through training, awareness programs, and proactive risk mitigation.
- Investigate workplace incidents and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Responsible for all PDPA matters across the organisation.
- Lead and manage the PDPA Committee, ensuring compliance and continuous improvement.
- Oversee data protection audits, breach response, and staff training on data privacy.
- Take on any other duties related to operations as directed by senior management, given the dynamic nature of school operations.
Job requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Occupational Safety & Health, Business Administration, or related field.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in risk management, workplace safety, and compliance, preferably in education or childcare sectors.
- Proven track record in strategic planning, crisis management, and safeguarding leadership.
- Strong knowledge of PDPA, WSH regulations, and early childhood education standards.
- Strong organisational, coordination, and project-management skills.
