Job summary

A commodities trading firm in Singapore is seeking a professional to support day-to-day operations. You will assist traders with contract execution, coordinate logistics, and handle trade documentation. The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s degree and has at least 4 years of relevant experience in commodities trading, particularly in metals. Fluency in English and Chinese is essential for communicating effectively with clients.

Qualifications

Job Description

This role will be responsible for supporting day-to-day operations in commodities trading. Assist commodity traders to execute contracts, make shipping / warehouse / freight forwarding arrangements, liaise with banks on bill of lading, liaise with Treasury on payment documentations (such as LC), and co‑ordinate with suppliers/customers on trade documentations.

Responsibilities
  1. Act as a media between treasury and bank line in funds arrangement and L/C document preparation, discounting, etc.
  2. Work closely with counterparties to ensure smooth trading flow and process.
  3. Handle document operation for shipments.
  4. Promptly perform data entries into system on trade information.
  5. Solve issues relating to clients post deal confirmation till finalization of shipment.
  6. Support senior operation in handling sea or land logistics booking, co‑ordination and payment checks.
  7. Perform ad‑hoc tasks, and assist colleagues as and when required.
Job Requirements
  1. Bachelor’s degree, preferably in International Trade, Logistics, Finance, or related fields.
  2. At least 4 years of relevant experience in commodities trading in metals, contracts executions and documentations handling.
  3. Experiences in handling customers in China, Bangladesh and Pakistan.
  4. Initiative to creatively solve problems in difficult situations.
  5. Proven multi‑tasker, good team-player, strong communication and coordination skills.
  6. Proficient in English and Chinese (spoken, reading and written), able to translate the documents accurately, and to handle queries from China’s associates.
  7. Knowledge in Microsoft Words, Excel, power‑point, etc.
