Job Summary

The O-Level English Teacher is responsible for planning and delivering effective English Language instruction aligned with the national curriculum and school policies. The teacher ensures that lessons support students’ language development, reinforce examination readiness, and foster a conducive learning environment that aligns with EQUISTAR’s teaching and learning expectations.

Key Duties & Responsibilities
  • Design and deliver English Language lessons aligned with the O-Level syllabus and school’s Scheme of Work.
  • Develop lesson plans, teaching materials, assessments, and resources that support differentiated learning.
  • Set assessment papers, examination scripts, and marking schemes based on curriculum standards.
  • Mark students’ assignments and assessments within stipulated timelines, ensuring accuracy and quality feedback.
  • Monitor and track students’ progress, providing timely feedback and intervention where required.
  • Conduct assessments to support learning and inform instructional adjustments.
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance, performance, and assessment-related documentation.
  • Apply varied pedagogical approaches that cater to diverse learning needs and enhance lesson effectiveness.
  • Participate in professional development, curriculum review, and departmental initiatives.
  • Prepare and submit Module Review Reports for every module taught, in accordance with school requirements.
Requirements
  • Postgraduate degree in the relevant field.
  • Previous teaching experience in international schools or Singapore Government Schools is a strong advantage.
  • Responsible, organised, and able to engage learners of different proficiency levels.
  • Able to deliver lessons effectively based on the assigned schedule.
  • NIE-trained and has held similar position in government secondary schools or colleges preferred.
  • Familiarity with ‘O’ and ‘A’ level programmes is a definite advantage.
  • Excellent people and leadership skills.
  • Responsible, organised, and able to engage learners of different proficiency levels.
