Job Description

The Nursing Aide delivers quality daily care and supervision to residents, following care plans developed by Nursing and Allied Health Professionals. The role maintains accurate documentation, provides input for care plan reviews, ensures adherence to house rules while recommending measures to mitigate risks, conducts activities that promote residents’ health, wellness and quality of life, and attends to their basic care needs. The Nursing Aide is a caring, patient, responsible professional with strong leadership and team skills who contributes effectively across voluntary welfare organisations, community and institutional settings.

Client Care
  • Provide personal care assistance such as toileting, bathing, dressing and grooming, ensuring good personal hygiene at all times.
  • Supervise or assist residents during meal times.
  • Perform daily activities and manage residents according to care plans (ICP).
  • Prepare residents for various activities, meal times and bed times.
  • Assist in giving regular medication under Staff Nurse’s supervision, with proper recording.
  • Maintain proper records such as behaviour records, daily logs and home leave records.
  • Ensure residents’ diet restrictions are adhered to.
  • Monitor and record bowel movement, menstruation, blood pressure, weight and height of residents on a regular interval.
  • Conduct body checks on residents daily.
  • Support intervention during medical emergencies of residents.
  • Maintain up‑to‑date documentation of clients’ conditions and care treatments.
  • Provide inputs during case review and liaise with healthcare professionals for the development and review of care plans.
  • Verify accuracy of documentation of client’s condition, progress and care treatments.
  • Review inventory for replenishing medical supplies.
Maintain order, safety and cleanliness of the care environment
  • Ensure client behaviours comply with house rules.
  • Respond to unusual or challenging behaviours of clients.
  • Recommend measures to mitigate risk to clients.
  • Support the intervention implementation for managing challenging behaviours.
  • Perform housekeeping duties.
  • Ensure equipment is maintained in a clean and working condition.
Manage care operations
  • Perform daily handover to staff during shift changes.
  • Provide input to operations review meetings.
Perform stakeholder engagement
  • Assist in liaising with other professionals, volunteer doctors, hospitals and stakeholders involved in the case to facilitate provision of care services for clients.
  • Provide client perspectives and needs in development of care plans with professionals and other stakeholders.
  • Maintain and update documents for MSF licensing.
Qualification & Skills
  • NITEC in Nursing.
  • ITE Skills Certificate in Healthcare (Home Care) Programme.
  • WSQ Certificate in nursing care‑related courses and/or relevant work experience in nursing care.
Other Information
  • Preferably 1‑year relevant working experience.
  • Computer literacy skills – MS Word and PowerPoint.
  • Experience working with persons with autism, intellectual and/or developmental disabilities is preferred.
  • Must be able to commit to work on weekends due to shift work.
