Responsibilities
Clinical Care
  • Oversee the efficient management of the Transitional Care Facility, ensuring adherence to quality service programs aligned with the organisation's quality assurance and Infection Control initiatives
  • Supervise, assess, and apply corrective actions to all staff as necessary
  • Uphold organisational policies, values, and the nursing profession's standards
  • Coordinate daily nursing department operations, fostering effective teamwork
  • Collaborate with the Head Nurse to maintain high nursing care standards through clinical guidance, training, and support for nursing, non‑nursing colleagues and auxiliary staff
  • Facilitate orientation for all RNs, ENs and Nursing Aides / HCAs, and assess clinical assessments before confirming RNs, ENs and Nursing Aides / HCAs
  • Cultivate positive working relationships within the Nursing Department and among various internal and external stakeholders
Quality
  • Revise and enhance nursing policies and procedures as required
  • Ensure team members are well‑versed in Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and emergency protocols
  • Lead quality assurance initiatives, monitoring and appraising nursing care quality while implementing action plans for improvement. Conduct mandated quality audits as per Ministry of Health regulations
  • Collaborate with nursing, allied health professionals, and support care teams to orchestrate quality improvement endeavours and continuous improvement projects
  • Manage inventory control of assets and drugs, ensuring safe storage and optimal utilisation
  • Oversee and assess ward services to deliver safe, effective, and high‑quality care to residents
Training and Development
  • Participate in regular assessments of nursing staff competencies to achieve targets and desired competency levels
  • Facilitate orientation and performance evaluations for newly joined staff nurses during their induction
  • Support the Head Nurse in identifying and planning training and developmental needs for nursing and ancillary staff
Administration
  • Ensure adequate staffing levels and skill mix for various shifts and service types
  • Manage daily manpower rostering for the facility
  • Utilise performance management and counselling to motivate staff and ensure adherence to practice standards
  • Safeguard confidential files, records, and documents while upholding resident confidentiality
  • Maintain productive working relationships within the Nursing Department and with internal and external stakeholders
  • Manage an inventory of ward equipment, ensuring regular maintenance
  • Provide support to the Head Nurse in facility management and act as a deputy in his/her absence
Requirements
  • Registered with the Singapore Nursing Board
  • Diploma in Nursing or equivalent recognised by the Singapore Nursing Board
  • Valid Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification will be an advantage
  • Individuals possessing community nursing experience, along with a robust clinical knowledge and specialised expertise in Hospitals, Transitional Care Facilities, Nursing Home management, or Day Care Centres, will have an added advantage
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem‑solving skills
  • Familiarity with regulatory guidelines and compliance standards
  • Possess good interpersonal and communication skills, with a positive work attitude and strong commitment towards service excellence
  • Ability to work in a team and in a fast‑paced environment
  • Willing to work shifts, on weekends and public holidays
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications
