Job Summary

A global hedge fund is seeking an experienced Network & Security Specialist to support and secure mission-critical trading infrastructure. This role sits at the intersection of network operations, security monitoring, and incident response, ensuring high availability, low latency, and strong security controls across on-prem and cloud environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide L2/L3 support for trading, market data, and corporate network infrastructure in a low-latency environment.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex, non-routine network and security incidents, including trading-impacting issues.
• Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for major incidents and implement permanent remediation to prevent recurrence.
• Administer and support firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and SSL technologies.
• Monitor network performance, authentication activity, and security alerts; investigate anomalous or suspicious behavior.
• Support Identity Detection & Response (IDR), including monitoring identity misuse, privilege escalation, and access anomalies.
• Utilize Operations Bridge Manager (OBM) or equivalent monitoring platforms to correlate events and accelerate resolution.
• Partner closely with trading, infraestrutura, and security engineering teams to enhance resilience and reduce operational risk.

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong hands-on expertise in TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, switching, and firewall management.
• Experience supporting high-availability, low-latency environments within financial services.
• Solid knowledge of SIEM, IDS/IPS, EDR, and security monitoring frameworks.
• Experience with Active Directory, identity controls, and access governance.
• Exposure to AWS and/or Azure in hybrid environments.
• Familiarity with monitoring tools (e.g. SolarWinds, Nagios) and automation/scripting (Python, Bash) is advantageous.

Role Scope

• L2: Deep troubleshooting, configuration analysis, and log review for production issues.
• L3: Complex root-cause resolution, architectural improvements, and collaboration on strategic infrastructure design.
