Job summary

A leading shipping company based in Singapore is seeking a specialist in shipping network planning. The successful candidate will lead the optimisation of vessel liner services and coordinate with various partners to ensure operational efficiency. Required are advanced analytical skills, a Master’s degree in a relevant field, and 2 to 4 years of experience in maritime logistics. The role demands fluency in English and is enhanced by proficiency in additional regional languages.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2–4 years of relevant experience in shipping network planning or maritime logistics.
  • Experience with multi-purpose vessels or specialised shipping services is preferred.

Job description
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and support the planning and optimisation of multi-purpose vessel liner service networks, including route configuration, service frequency and network connectivity.
  • Coordinate with internal and external partners on network cooperation frameworks, joint services and operational alignment across regions.
  • Support route development strategy and service product design, including market assessment, commercial feasibility studies and network performance evaluation.
  • Oversee voyage planning and coordination, including schedule planning, voyage cost analysis, profitability tracking and settlement coordination.
  • Manage network-level schedule adjustments to ensure optimal vessel deployment and capacity utilisation.
  • Monitor freight market developments and support network‑based pricing strategy, capacity planning and slot allocation decisions.
  • Coordinate the execution of voyage operations to ensure alignment with operational guidelines, empty repositioning plans and service commitments.
  • Prepare analytical reports and recommendations to support management decision‑making on network development and optimisation initiatives.
Requirements
  • Master’s degree in International Trade, Economics, Maritime Studies, Transport Economics or related disciplines.
  • Minimum 2–4 years of relevant experience in shipping network planning, liner operations, maritime logistics or related commercial functions.
  • Experience involving multi‑purpose vessels, project cargo or specialised shipping services is strongly preferred.
  • Strong analytical capability in route evaluation, voyage cost modelling and network performance analysis.
  • Good understanding of regional shipping markets, freight pricing mechanisms and liner network planning principles.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a regional, cross‑border and multi‑stakeholder environment.
  • Proficiency in English is required. Proficiency in additional languages commonly used in regional shipping and logistics markets is an advantage, as the role involves frequent coordination with regional vessel owners, cargo interests and commercial partners.
