Job description

Responsibilities

• Teaching music in grades 1/EST to 6 in accordance with the GESS Music Curriculum
• Contributing to interdisciplinary teaching units
• Leading lessons and creating optimal learning conditions
• Supporting student learning development through creative, engaging, and research-based approaches
• Assessing, documenting, and communicating student learning progress
• Contributing to the ongoing development of the curriculum
• Participating in meetings, supervisory duties, and professional development activities
• Promoting music at GESS through concerts and events
• Supporting year groups in planning musical performances at regular primary school assemblies
• Proactive involvement in school development and collaboration within the grade-level team
• Proactive communication with parents and contribution to the school’s public image
• Active participation in school life
• Supporting and actively accompanying the bilingual string program in grade 3
• Supporting and actively accompanying the bilingual wind instrument program in grade 5

Requirements

• Completed teacher training/qualification for primary school with specialization in music
• At least two years of experience as a primary school teacher
• Excellent German and English language skills, as teaching instructions are delivered in German
• Practical skills in accompanying songs on the piano and/or guitar
• Humorous and resilient personality who enjoys teaching and nurturing young children
• Experience in leading a choir
• Experience working with wind and string instruments
• Engaging and dynamic personality with passion and talent for fostering a love of music in young children
• Openness to working in an international team and ability to work independently
• Work experience at international schools is desirable

Aufgaben

• Fachunterricht in Musik in den Klassenstufen 1/EST bis 6 gemäß GESS-Musik-Curriculum
• Mitarbeit an fachübergreifenden Unterrichtseinheiten
• Leitung des Unterrichts und Schaffung von optimalen Lernbedingungen
• Fördern einer Lernentwicklung für verschiedene Schülerinnen und Schüler unter Anwendung kreativer, einnehmender und forschungsbasierter Ansätze Beurteilung, Dokumentation und Kommunikation der Lernfortschritte der Schülerinnen und Schüler
• Mitarbeit bei der Weiterentwicklung des Lehrplans
• Teilnahme an Meetings, Aufsichtsdiensten und Weiterbildungsmaßnahmen
• Musik an der GESS durch Konzerte und Veranstaltungen fördern
• Unterstützung der Jahrgangsteams bei der Planung von Musikaufführungen auf regelmäßigen Grundschulversammlungen
• Proaktives Engagement in der Schulentwicklung und Mitarbeit im Jahrgangsstufenteam
• Proaktive Elternkommunikation und Mitarbeit in der Außendarstellung der Schule
• Aktive Teilnahme am Schulleben
• Unterstützung und aktive Begleitung des bilingualen Streicherprogramms in Klasse 3

Anforderungen

• Abgeschlossene Lehramtsausbildung für das Grundschullehramt für das Fach Musik
• mindestens zwei Jahre Erfahrung als Grundschullehrkraft
• Sehr gute Sprachkenntnisse in Deutsch und Englisch, da Lehranweisungen in deutscher Sprache erfolgen
• Praktische Kenntnisse in der Liedbegleitung am Klavier und/oder an der Gitarre
• Humorvolle und belastbare Persönlichkeit mit Freude am Unterrichten und Erziehen junger Menschen
• Erfahrung mit der Leitung eines Chors
• Erfahrung in der Arbeit mit Blas- und Streichinstrumenten
• Einnehmende und dynamische Persönlichkeit mit Leidenschaft und Talent, bei kleinen Kindern die Liebe zur Musik zu wecken
• Aufgeschlossenheit zur Mitarbeit in einem internationalen Team sowie die Fähigkeit für selbstständiges Arbeiten
